2011/2012
We Came, We Saw, We Sodded (August 27, 2011)
Saturday August 27th, our Antioch community came together to make the "Field of Dreams" a reality. 82 volunteers including: parents, students, Mrs. Dillon, Antioch staff, Piedmont High School student government leaders, WHS FFA and WHS NHS members put in a combined 250 hours to sod the multi-purpose field. We laid 26,000 square feet of Bermuda sod in just a few hours, and Hurricane Irene provided us with overcast skies and a nice breeze. John Dippert of Aqua Duck Water Transport will water the sod, and in about 5 weeks, our Gators will finally have grass on which to play! This dream has taken us over a year to become a reality as we began fundraising for the grass during the past school year! Thanks to all who have supported our fundraising efforts and to all the "Dream Team" members who came out to sod the field! It was an amazing day of our community members working together to improve and enhance our school. With hard work, even the biggest of dreams can come true!
