Nomination Committee

We are in the process of forming the 2012 Nominating Committee. This committee will lead the search for all open PTO Officer positions for the 2012-2013 school year. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, January 31st at 9:30am. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Ali Milligan at alimills@carolina.rr.com by Monday, January 30th. 

Copy Center Volunteers URGENT!!!!

We are currently looking for volunteers for the Copy Center for the new year.  Each volunteer shift lasts 2 hours per week. If you would like to volunteer or have any further questions, please contact Nicole D'Amico at noledoc2@comcast.net.  Shifts still needed are: 

Tuesday from 9-11am (1 person)
Wednesday from 9-11am (1 person)
Thursday from 8-10am every other Thursday (1 person)

                    9-11am (1 person) 

Gator Task Force

Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to help raise money for our school?  If so, the Gator Task Force would love your help with obtaining business donations for the 2012 Silent Auction.  If you are interested in joining our forces, please attend our information meeting on Wednesday, January 11th at 9:30 am.  Please contact Lisa Glass for meeting location or questions at lglass@att.net.
Antioch Announcements 

Go Green Night
Thank you to everyone who attended Go Green Night on Friday. Our Gators did a great job pledging to Leave Only Their Footprints Behind in 2012. We would like to thank the parents who sent in empty two liters for our recycled crafts. We would also like to thank the local businesses and individuals who donated their time, knowledge, services and products to make our Go Green Night a huge success. Thank you to Enjoy Life Foods, GBUSA, Kings Greenhouse on Stallings Rd., Master Gardener - Peter Larrimore, Organic Plant Health in Matthews - Billy Styles and Southern Styles Nursery on Rea Rd.
 
Go Green Awareness Week
This weeks kicks off our 2nd Annual Go Green Awareness Week. Each day is filled with activities to teach our Gators to be a little "greener". While most of the week's activities will be built into the school day, this week will have the greatest impact if you reinforce the theme at home.
Monday Trash Free Lunch - Use reusable containers for food and drink. Pack cloth napkins and reusable utensils.
Tuesday Pollution Solution Day - Carpool, ride the bus, walk to school. Cars OFF while waiting for carpool line to start. Also, trash free lunch.
Wednesday Turn it Off Day - Lights off when you leave. Wear a green shirt and help your class win a "green" party!! Also, trash free lunch.
Thursday Plant a Seed Day: Care instructions for the seed are attached and can also be found at http://www.antioch.ucps.k12.nc.us/ and click on the green "All Important Announcements" link. Also, trash free lunch.
Friday Energy Education Day: Learn about electricity and energy and how to conserve it. Also, trash free lunch.

Student Directories
For those of you that ordered the 2011/2012 Student Directory, they were delivered to teachers mailboxes last week. We do have student directories still available to purchase for $5 each. If you would like to order a directory or did not receive your directory that you ordered, please contact Kristen Wiggers at mkwiggers@aol.com.

Spirit Event News
Come out and join us for our first spirit event of 2012! On Thursday January 19th, we will be having our Spirit Event at Chick Fil A (4pm-8pm) and TCBY (2pm-8pm) in Wesley Chapel. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Antioch. Don't forget to enter the drawing for your chance to win Gator Bucks! The classroom with the highest participation will win a mural painted in the media center.  Teachers, show your support and you could win a Gator Early Out Pass! Hope to see you there!  

Spirit Rock

Lego Club Donations
The Lego Club is looking for donations of legos to use at our meetings. They can be any type of lego and do not have to be a set.
